Products Bought and Sold at Allen's Scrap & Salvage

Did you know?

What are metals worth?

Non-ferrous materials are worth significantly more by weight. If you have a lot of non-ferrous we suggest you separate them in your load prior to coming to our yard. You can still unload ferrous and non-ferrous in one trip, just as long as you’ve separated it beforehand. Prices vary dramatically and change with market fluctuations. Contact us for today’s pricing.

Materials We Sell

You can browse the materials we have available at our main yard but please stop in at the office first. For your safety, all visitors in the yard must be accompanied by an Allen’s Scrap & Salvage employee and wear a visi-vest and hardhat for safety. The price for the material is based on the current market value less the cost to transport the material and process it.

Materials We Buy

The combination of our modern, computerized point of scale management system and our experienced staff ensure you get the best value for the materials you bring.

When it comes to pricing the metals we purchase, there are a number of variables that can affect this process, including:

  • THE GRADE OF METAL, because every metal has a number of different grades, each developed for specific applications

  • THE COMMODITY PRICE of the metal, which can change several times a day, in concert with supply & demand for the metal, commodities trading and fluctuations in currency exchange rates

  • THE STATE OF THE METAL ie whether it has been properly sorted and cleaned of other types of metals or contaminants such as plastic or insulation.

  • THE TRAVEL FACTOR meaning whether the metal is delivered to us or we have to pick it up. Also, our costs to send it to the smelter for final processing.
